Kiss, Kiss, hug, hug...I mean WTF...no offence Brad but you obviously see Nissans as a better vehicle than Landies...which can only tell me you arent and werent meant to be a true blue landy lover...just my opinion of course. I'd rather my testicles served up to me with a sliver of bacon and a can of baked beans than ever...ever....ever drive some jap crap...but thats just me .

Goodluck mate...I would buy a Nissan over a new LC 200 but I would buy a 70 series landcruiser over a Nissan.I still like my Toyota 70 series as have owned a 75 series ute for 5yrs before selling it to purchase the Landy.

Iam still a virgin to the Landy world as have only had the defender for 12 months.

I think that your choice certainly has merit, Brad. Owning a Landie outside the city is problematical.

Living in Karratha as you do, your decision makes perfect sense to me.

I found that out when I took the Disco to Derby for my daughter. No one local was willing to work on it despite it being a very simple vehicle to maintain.

Hopefully we AULROians can still say "G'day" when we get to Karratha.

Steve just how would you go travelling 1600 km (Oh and thats only one way) to the nearest competent dealer every time something goes wrong?? or even for servicing
Sorry I agree with Brad regardless of how emotional it is its only part of the decision

I recently had the nearest Land Rover dealer (only 800ks away) refuse to work on my vehicle because it wasn't manufactured after 2000 (the guy was smarter than I am lol)

Today I could have said I wanted to use my Tdi auto to pull a tandem of firewood home, because I wouldn't be seen dead in an inferior car to a LR.

For 5 years now I have had the MY2003 and enjoyed it immensely.

Theres the answer for me ......if it had been otherwise...I could perhaps understand. Also lets face it....if any other dealer is 1600kms away from civilisation, chances are any requirements are going to be similiar. Horses for courses, you are either a died in the heart or your not....simple. Plenty other folks in remote area's driving LR's and if you read it the post it seemed to have more to do with driving an TATA LR as opposed to anything else. As said before, Id rather my nuts sauteed than drive some jap crap...but thats just me...asta la vista ,
