    My first 4x4 experience

    Hi All

Being invited to Stockton Beach tomorrow by a fellow POM with a Pajero. Its great for getting a lift back from the pub, but I'm not sure how it will do on the Beach so I am following in the Freelander in case he needs dragging out

Never been off road before so wish me luck.

    Good luck Mark.

Do you have an auto or manual Freelander?
If manual, please go easy on the clutch.

WOW what a great few days.....

Its a 1.8 manual - clutch was fine, there is a funny whining when I turn left - I'm suspecting the right wheel bearing. ????

The Pajero had a problem with its Auto box over heating, but it was fine on the way home.

I must have passed the camp, I spotted quite a few other landies on there. Even managed to catch 2 snapper this morning before heading back. Shame they were too small to keep!!!

No, I was staying at a friends house about an hour south. We were on the beach new years day. Dark green Freelander, following a white Pajero. I had the 2 boxers hanging out of the boot!!! The youngest did a runner across some dunes... that was not fun running after her.

We pulled up a few k's south for a paddle, then headed towards the wreck, but never made it due to the overheating Pajero. Had a blast over a few dunes on the way out too!!!! Only staled it once. Tyres around 15psi.
