    Why thank you wise one, cant i just repent and move on. Or i was thinking fix the brakes and fuel pump in the haflinger which i would use to bash around in the bush would that be enough?

    Why wouldn't you do that with a D1

    My D1 is my daily driver and I did not see anything on any of those video that I would not attempt with my D1 (I didn't say it would survive but it probably would with a few battle scars).

    Other than perhaps bending the roof frame out of square in a minor roll over what is the risk? D1's are dirt cheap and V8 ones are FUN!

    Now if someone organises a bash like that some where in SA please invite me!

    My D1 needs to get dirty and a few more scares will just add character.

    Yeah i think i like Grover to stay in as good a condition as possible as he is my daily driver.

    All i need is a fuel pump for the haflinger and im set, it need to have the brakes fixed but ill do that later

    to be fair to the zuki they are good on sand but really its not a proper 4x4 is it?
    See how many of the rolled?
    I did glimpse a proper 4x4 at the 2:14 mark!

    IMHO, if you want to have any real fun on the tracks, it needs to be a dedicated weekend beast... Otherwise you won't want to sink it in mud just to see if you can get out . And if you do, its going to be a very uncomfortable, smelly drive to work on Monday!

    I also think it saves me money (maybe i haven't really thought this through ) because when things do break, it can sit around until i can find a cheap replacement and find time to fit it myself. Dropping it off at the mechanic on Monday morning is not a good way to do things (if you happen to like money, that is ).

    I am definitely not a hard core offroader (just a bit of fun really), and my Rangie is weekend only. If i can't hit the tracks, maybe just to the shops to keep it running...

    Problem is, once it is a weekend beast, you tend to pour money in it so it looks and works like a weekender! IMHO, i'd rather do that than spend $ at the mechanic in the "Monday morning" scenario...
