My defender used to tow a Toyota blizzard shooting wagon around that weighed 2 tons and no one used to believe me.The 300 is a tough little engine and I agree totally about the gearing being just as imprtant if not more important than outright engine power.Just on the fuel side my ''new'' second hand work troopy uses 14ltrs per hundred empty so your 12 towing is very impressive. No worries , we would have loved to come down to the Murray river and have a swim to cool off a bit , it was absolutely scortching hot but re: beers , next time when we come down hopefully with Tony I'll bring plenty of cold beers.

Thanks for asking panda, Jasmine is doing great , she chases the ball in the doggie park which is a really good sign , still limps on the right leg thou , we're just really glad she has survived the ordeal.
