My 95 Disco tdi std cas/radio has the input for an I Pod (CD) so if you know some one that has pulled one out you can place a unit in that has landrover emblem on it and it will look original I noew they put themj in from the 94 update dash notsure which year they stopped. Make sure you get the pin code though. I had toget code off land rover for mine when i purchased the vehicle.

Just put your old one back in James... my 96 tdi fender has the original still and it has the input plug on the front already radio and tape deck don't work anymore and nothing shows on the display but the ipod input works perfectly

If you want to have a neat installation that won't interfere with anything else, you need to look at the Dension products:

    Clicky...

I've got an ICELink in my Defender and it's superb. You drop the iPod into a cradle and then everything is controlled through the head unit.

Really? I remember the old unit and don't remember seeing a plug. My Defender was a November build 96 model. Anyway it is long gone. The original owner, a mate, swapped the system.

I'll try looking at Strathfield and follw up on those Sony tips. Thanks, everyone.

I bought the base Pioneer with the aux plug in the face for around $150. It's in the Defender and works very very well. It's easily loud enough over the gentle hum of the 300Tdi. The advantage of using an iPod is that it won't "skip" on rough ground.
