If you have not read any these or heard of him then shame on you. These are a great read of a chap who made the roads of the outback with land rovers . And you would not belive what he did to them and how he fixed them in the middle of no where .
I was lucky enough to find a best of book when i was doing my trip around Aus . Great read and great sense of humour
I already have a few of them but still bought the box set so i have the lot, and i am looking forward to reading the rest

Already posted up this. You can also get it through Dymocks. I bought it as I'd read them years back but had borrowed them off friends at the time. Now I can re-read them! Well worth getting.

Interesting - I'd like to get those.

I'm currently reading a book called "West of Centre" by Ray Ericksen. He kitted out a Landrover in 1967 and followed Ernest Giles paths around the centre and north. This book was published in 1973 and my wife had it from school.

We bought the set from the ABC book shop a few years ago. Great reading and would recommend them to anyone - you feel that you are there with Len.

I read a borrowed book which wasn't the first in the series and there were lot's of references explained in earlier books. The trick is to start with first in the series and read the lot in order - hard to put down.

I scored the box for my wedding anniversary late last year. I'm only on the 2nd book, but the first was fascinating!

Thanks for that - will have to grab a set.

ABC shop also has a boxed set of Jack Absalom movies on DVD at present - I bought a set of these on the weekend.

He sure did. IIRC he afterwards called his team the "Gunbarrel Construction Coy".

He writes a good yarn. I highly recommend his books.

There is also a CD of a talk that he once gave (Rotary?). Also well worth it, if you can get it.

    Best Wishes,
