I think a rover v8 may be a bit too much for a ride on mower , just find a cheap chinese 200cc engine or something. Ive got a 200cc quad which is enough for me to get around on (for the time being )

Ive got a 5.5hp single B&S horazontal shaft on a Duecher walk bejind slasher mower in the shed which only has 1 wheel on the back which will need a new home.

A mate dropped it off here as he salvaged it from a clean up he did (Jims Mowing man) and I just want the Gearbox for a complete honda powered one I have so the motor will be cheap and the rest is up for grabs if anyone wants it for spares.

You can get about 10Hp out of these engines with the right stuff in them and are very very robust but when worked they tend to over heat.

I have seen one on a mini rail dragster which they recon got around 50Hp on alcohole but I recon that was a case of dreaming as I dont think a sade valve could flow enough to get those sort of numbers.

What about an old outboard motor, you could use the prop to cut the grass, LOL, Regards Frank.
