Forgot to add that there is also the Inland track that takes you to the beach .You access it from White Patch were there is camping spots.

But most people access the beach from Woorim.

I believe that Permits are also required for the inland tracks as it is now under the control of NPWS. Permits can be purchased from the Council Caravan Park @ Welsby Pde Bongaree business hrs

We just got back from a week at my brothers place at Woorim.
The 3 lagoons were open and the tides were huge - some serious erosion has been had recently.
We went up the inland track (yes Permit required) to check out the fort and so on. No way would I risk those lagoons, my Disco fears the smell of salt water let alone getting the least bit wet in the stuff.

Is the inland road a seperate permit or does the beach permit cover it?

The one permit covers driving on all tracks that your allowed on there are other tracks your not allowed on.Theres sum great camping spots at Poverty Creek and Gallaghers.

Poverty Creek has toilets and two different camping spots eg..Fires allowed.

Not a Bad track its a bit bare since they logged it.

Aaron, we checked out Poverty Creek last week, not a single camper there. I expected to see the place packed because, as you said, its a top spot.
The track has some deep sand sections as well - wouldn't want to run a vehicle through there with only moderate clearance.
Bribie is a great part of the world.

I would have thought with school hoildays it would have been packed as well maybe they were all on the beach.

There are some deep sandy sections on that Inland track alright. I remember last time I was on 4wd monthly meet we came accross a 60 series on our side of the track bogged down to his diffs.Offered to help out but he said he never deflated his tyres and he would be allright once he did that.Only problem was he was right on a corner and it was very soft almost got bogged myself trying to get around him, but the defender didn't let me down.

I have passed a few RAV'S and Swiffs on the Inland track as long as you take your time and watch were your going its not to bad can also be a bit bumpy. Its not a bad part of the world which is why we may never leave .
