As you can probably guess, I enjoy them immensely.

As I just concentrate on Ron's correction or comment and never bother to look at who posted the original mistake, I can hardly be accused of being amused by some member's inability or unwillingness to spell.

I was thinking of asking if you think that the reaction of some people on this thread suggests that there is some sort of correlation between an unwillingness to make a little bit of an effort with spelling and having no sense of humour.
However in the light of the way some people seem to react to comments about spelling, I had better not.

Thats why I always start that type of sentance with "...."

    eg:

.... and to keep an eye on Rons speeling.

It also means I don't have to waist a capitol letter.

OK. I have a confession to make.
    You nearly caught me.
I was really close to responding with some sort of (hopefully) witty comment about Ron's punctuation as well as his speeling.
Fortunately the penny dropped before I put my foot in it.

Now I just have to work out (for my own satisfaction) whether those are homophones or homonyms. If I'm quick I'll be able to google (Google?) it before someone puts me straight on the subject.

While I'm following this rather rambling train of thought, I suppose it is now permissible to use google without the capital if it is used in a generic sense. After all we can use thermos, kleenex, biro, nazi, hoover and a lot of other terms in a generic sense without the capital.

I just had this on the Two Wheels forum (in a thread about obsessive compulsive disorders) - I'd written "fora" and Webbo corrected it. (Elisabeth is "Bucko's Ma" so I get "Pa"):

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
    Its rare lea ever wrong.

Sorry if everyones read it already

    Cheers

I know people rubbish English because of the problem of homonyms but, even so, one can easily decipher the poem above.

Whether that can be done with other languages, I am not so sure (the British comedy series 'Allo, 'Allo comes to mind).
