hmm, even if another dealership opens in Newy, how many dealers are actually outside of NSW ?
    Dubbo, Port and......??
(NSW=Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong. The rest of the state doesn't exist, does it )

Modern Motors were awesome with their parts. As for Alto, Good riddance, I bought my D2 2nd hand from them and their after sales / warranty service was absolutely deplorable. After I'd had the car for about 6 weeks, one saturday morning it started misfiring (oil in harness) so I rang Alto,
"Sorry mate, our workshop doesn't open saturdays, ring NRMA"
    "I'm not in NRMA"
"Just get it here the best way you can then"
"can I speak to your sales manager ?"
    "I am the sales manager"
"No problems, I'll drive it in and you just ignore the fact that towing is covered under warranty, I'll see you when I get there"
When I got there I stood in the showroom for about 10 minutes and they weren't busy but finally a salesman, that I knew from when I was workshop 2ic at a non LR dealership, came out to see me. He put the car in the workshop for me but was a bit vague when I asked him about his boss. The total lack of urgency in getting the car back to me was prominent and after 2 weeks my missus went to pick it up , she got about 300 yards up the road and it started misfiring again so she took it straight back. When I rang my service advisor I couldn't get a straight answer about their repair methods so I asked to speak to the service manager then the advisor hung up on me so I rang the switchboard and asked for the service manager and lo and behold my service advisor was in the SM's office when I was put through.
That was just the start of about 4 months of complete and utter bullshirt and mismanagement. 4 month warranty period because I had to "remind" them that the clock stops ticking when they have posession of the car.
The mob I used to work for pushed me to cut quite a few corners but I would have been keelhauled for the stuff they tried to pull off.
Apologies for the rant but some stories just have to be told.

    Bring back the Rumbles,
    Anthony.

I got good service from Alto in Sydney.
But when I had the D2 I had problems when they closed the Brookvale workshop.

If I had to walk my dog past Alto's, I'd cross the road so as not to expose him to their nature strip, but then again I'd probably walk him past there and kick his backside if he crapped any where else but there.
