Birdsville Trip
I am contemplating doing "the loop" from Melbourne to Port Augusta up the Birdsville track, across to Iniminka, down to Broken hill via Camerons corner then back to Melbourne in the first two weeks of May this year. Can anyone advise me as to what I can expect weather wise and can if I can get away sleeping in swags for the trip or should I take tents. Also, what temps can I expect during the day as well as nightime.
Many thanks for replies.

Likelyhood of Lake Eyre getting some water in it this year too. I'm keeping my eye on the Lake Eyre Yacht Club web site, and have told the family that we'll be going up for a look if there's water. Something good has to come from the Qld floods.

Carry a small tent, as you may need it the first night heading out from Melbourne, and on the last night on your return.
