Our beloved Isuzu - washer off the bridge back in 1987 in a flash flood. I had to scramble out the sliding window and swim for it. The water was under the top of the guide post in the background.

I claimed insurance for this and then bought it back at auction, fixed it and drove if for another 5 years. In those days you could remove the number plates before handing the car in to the insurance company as I have personalised plates. When I bought it back it was still registered.

The only damage was a bent rod, crook speedo and small dings in a guard and roof.

Should have still been running ok...

My old ECU ran underwater in the seatbox for 20 minutes...

We just drove off and it was still good 2 years later when I fitted a new flashable ECU..

Think if its clean water it may keep running. Mine stopped after 10 minutes in very deep filthy muddy water. Still works now, over 4 years later as a spare.
