I am not sure about that.
If the Defender in the Red book worth $12000 and the dealer have to add cost of running the business plus any possible warranty claim a charge of $ 4000 would be the minimum which I will put on the top of the cost of the vehicle.

I sold my 2003 TD5 (pic Above) about 6 months ago for $27k. It had 108k on the clock, B/bar, snorkel, warn winch, Tinted windows and was in excellent condition. Dealer said he would give me $18k-22k as a trade. Took 2 weeks to sell it parked out on the highway near my house. The lady that brought it said it was by far the dearest one she had looked at but also in the best condition. I was happy with that. $5k-7k better that a trade.

    Defender pricing.

Just sold my 1997 300Tdi with 150K on the clock with a good few spares for 18 grand.
From the interest generated from my adv. I reckon I could have got a bit more.
Just don't sell them to dealers for what their Red book says, advertise on carsales.com with pics as it appears to be a good efficient way of getting a reasonable price.

they said if i get a valuer to cert it for more than 5500 they will do agreed value for that cert value.

so i took market value and once i paint it i am off to a valuer to see what can be done..

redbook is bull**** in the 110 world...
I had it out with NRMA the other week. They said the max value of my twin locked turbo intercooled 4bd1 county was 5K. I told them i would be cancleing my familys insurance (home & cars) if they declined to insure it for its true replacement value, or there abouts. The lady asked what i thought it was worth, so i told her, that a replacement would be north of $12K. She typed $12k into the value on the screen infront of her, and it went through somehow.

    I now pay a massive extra $20 a month.
