fwiw, i recently gave a pair of 170's to a mate, some lowlife had flogged the pair of 170's off the front of his hilux, so i have him the pair i had, i've tried Rally4000's, IPF Extreme Sport 900's and the 170's......
this says it all, though my mate was stunned that i was just giving him the 170's:

Originally I had IPF 900's, then EVERYBODy told me how good the Lightforce 240Blitz's were.
I sold 15 sets to a mining company I dealt with and thought as I got such a good deal for 15, would the supplier throw in a 16th set for free?? Well not quite, but I did get them at 50% off the best price for 15 pairs which was something like $320/pr if I remember correctly, so I put them on and was reasonably happy with them.
HOWEVER..... either get the HID upgrade for them (240's) or at least get the Osram RooShooter globes that go in the handheld light. The std globe filament is a horizontal one, lets call it an EAST WEST globe and tends to give you a lack of intensity as 50% of the filament is facing forward and not being picked up by the reflector.
The RooShooter globe is a NORTH SOUTH filament that emits the light 360 deg into the reflector and yes it does make a big difference. I found this out on my last shooting trip to a mates farm near lake grace here in WA.
We had 2 Lightforce handhelds, one which blew a globe and the only spare was one of my std globes I had in the car.
One thing I like about the 240's is the ability to adjust the focus by rotating the lense regardless of which cover you have on and how easy it is to change the globe just by unscrewing the lense! But put a hose clamp over it to keep it secure or you may miss one or both as they are easy to get knocked of on a 5 finger discount.
Anyway, in my pursuit for "eternal light" I fitted my IPF 900's back as well so now I have 4......:eek:
What was the question again..........
Got the Roolite 220s and put in 55w HIDs - very impressed with the output but I'm sure that the HIDs would make any light better, never used Lightforce
Don't discount Narva.
Unrated light by lots of people but i find them fantastic wouldn't go anything else
Well I'm pleased with the support for the Blitz 240's as I picked up a perfectly good pair at a garage sale the other week for... 50 bucks...
Want to get the proper harness for them and then work out if they'll replace the IPF 800s or augment them.
I've found the 800 quite ok so far apart from both being spots instead of 1 spot/1 spread.

I've got LF XGT's converted to 55w HID. Awesome amount of light to say the least  Wouldn't have anything else now
