    Question lightforce or roolights

Gday all, Looking to put a set of driving lights on my disco and was wondering if any one has used either lightforce or roolights and which is the best and also do they perform as well as stated? cheers jay

I thought they were one and the same (but will be corrected)

I have been running Lightforce 170's for the last 6 years and love them. I tested them once against some IPF's and they seemed to go further and brighter. (I am bias but the owner of the IPF's was impressed)

I haven't had any issues with breakages and the car was involved in a nose tail a few years ago. (Our nose their tail)

I would happily buy another set if required.

    Hope this helps

I use 170 Lightforce lights on the 110 and the Disco. Very good lights

Only slight problem I had with them so far is I lost one of the perspex covers on my Oz tour. Don't know if lost it due to the corrugations or ducking them in deep water. Black gaffer tape was applied when I replaced them.

The top IPF lights on roof bar got a cracked glass. Thinking of replacing them with 140 Light Force

    HTH

    Regards

    Brendan

PS Have no experience of roolights

Hi blue thunder, the subject of roof lights has been cover a few times and if you do a search, you’ll find the threads.

Not wishing to bring the pros and cons of either lights up again, if you can get a ride with someone who has roof lights and see whether they would be a benefit your own needs by going for a night drive.

You can then decide which suits your needs.

    Hi
I run roolights and do a fair amount of night driving and have been happy with the lights. They are a cheaper than lightforce and believe they are a copy

I have'nt used either brand but I have heard the Roolights are good.

They will not be as good as the Lightforce but as an experiment how would Roolights go with 55w HID's?

I have noticed the Roolights become a lot more expensive now so the cost saving might not be there

Have a set of Lightforce XGTs on the D3 and converted to 55w HID.

Very happy with the light output up the road when out in the country. Only issue was mounting them - needed to drill new holes in the bar as the standards were too close to the uprights. Also a pain to get the spanner on the nuts whole holding the light still to tighten them. But once set up, all good. Ran a set of 240 Blitz on a previous fourby with no problems at all.

    Cheers
