Yes you can fit a winch into the rear cross member of a 110, not ruin the departure angle, and avoid the fuel tank and still use the rear of vehicle properly.

Yes you can get detachable winch systems. The lads in the Baltic countries are only allowed one winch in competition use so have demountable winches. You get stuck in the gloopy stuff and then have to either get winch out of back of vehicle or transfer it from one end to the other whilst knee deep in mud? Great fun I would think

I have not written up the installation, although I have various photos of it.
I did not physically do the installation myself as my welding is worse then my ability with a set of spanners. However I know a man who can!
