Well, I'm now minus my top 2 wisdom teeth, took my x rays in this time, found some more holes in 2 bottom molers, so back to get them filled, next available appointment............November:eek:
SEE that will teach you for not having 6 monthly checkups, instead of spreading the payments over the years you get the big whammy in 1 go now.
Yes I had the same thing happen to me, I have put a couple of dentists kids through uni and paid for exotic holidays for the dentist family.
I found though if you change dentists they all find that you are suffering from different diseases. I eventually found an old dentist that said there was no work to be done, but the bugger retired on me.
I paid big $ for a crown and when I complained about some pain later I was told "oh you didn't get the root canal done ( Oh, it's my fault now:eek:)
I'm still wandering around with a temp filling I had done 10 years ago, They said I needed a crown, but I needed the money more so never went back.
After the hour of work they put into the temp (plastic) I didn't have the heart to have all the handy work I paid Big $ wasted;)
DENTISTS ARE WORSE THAT LAND ROVER DEALERSHIPS
NM, implants are just great. I have two of them. Only drawback is the cost. A single implant is about $5000. I had a plate whilst the implant foundation peg and bone graft were healing. That was enough to convince me that the price was immaterial if it meant not having a plate for the rest of my life.
Pulling is always the cheaper option.
I have one wisdom tooth left but its roots have formed a right angle. They go down then point to the rear of the mouth like barbs
I have had my share of idiot dentists though. They guy I use now is good but expensive. After he finished fixing the cock ups from others I have a few gaps. It's all cost several grand but in the end it has been worth it. I still have a couple of gaps in the back but to fix those requires a bridge (porcelain, gold and platinum) which will put me back about 7 g's - he refuses to use plates. Have to replace another crown that has come its end of life too :(

Some have suggested their high rate of suicide is from all the mercury fumes from the amulgum fillings they put into your mouth that are killing you. I do have old Mercury almulgum fillings but wish I did not have them. If you eat coriander a lot your mercury amulgum fillings may fall out, as Coriander removes Mercury from your body so I have been told.
I've been putting off going to the dentist for a while.:D:D:D:D

I wouldn't worry about mercury from amalgams, it's only a problem when in vapor form, you get a hell of a lot more mercury from fish. Occupational exposure for dentists used to be a problem in the old days, but hand pieces now have water jets to cool the drilled surface to prevent mercury from vapourising. I have it on good authority that if you accidentally swallow bits of amalgam, they go straight through without getting absorbed.
