Can you claim insurance.![]()
Backing out my Disco this evening I felt a slight rear wheel elevation.Knowing that my son had been out earlier on his bike I instinctively had that sinking feeling and immediately stopped and move forward ... of course damage had been done. Carbon fibre road bike (Felt F5) about 4 weeks old .. broken rear derailleur and fractured rear stay and seat post part of frame just below seat post, as well as rather distorted wheel ....
(My guess is that that once fractured, these carbon fibre bikes are up the creek without a paddle....)

A long time ago in a place far away - I had a drinking buddy who was an engineer who dabbled in carbon fiber. Like fiberglass, you can wrap more CF around the fractures ( It won't look pretty but for a bike it should work) but the problem will be finding an industrial oven to cook it in.
Oh that sound expensive.
I was thinking Kmart tricycle.
But really, carbon fibre bike left in the driveway?
What was he thinking?![]()

I was going to say upon reading that at least your son was not sitting on the bike... but seems a bit unaplikable now
Your son may have live with the consequences of leaving it there for while then?
