I'm pretty sure the Tomcats can be bought as a kitset and are still available ex UK. There are always a few for sale secondhand in the UK and they're not too expensive.

The Wildcats come up for sale now and again in Europe but as per one of the other posts they're moocho expensive. Even the ones that have been bashed around the desert for a few weeks are supercar expensive. I'm guessing it's all the tricked up FIA spec bits and bobs that make's them silly money.

I'm not 100% sure the Nemesis has actually been released, I think it might still be in prototype with Bowler.

Either way, one day one way or another, I will own a Wildcat... maybe?

yep, spoke with teh Guy a few weeks ago.

    there is also RallyRaid International
    both can be kits

the rallyraid kit is more expensive than the tomcat but not as expensive as the Wildcat. the wildcat can only be purchased as a complete vehicle, ready to drive, the two above can be kits.

Also there is North Off Road - Design and Manufacture of Competition Vehicles, Roll Cages and 4x4 Accessories

Have spoke with the operators of both companies (tomcat and Rally raid) and they both seem quite flexable. My reseach found that it would be the registration here in AUS tht could be tricky, though I ahvent done anything like this before aso didnt go down the path of fully investigating. the Rallyraid has an FIA approved space frame and so should be easier to get a rating for rego becuase there isnt really much higher approval, but then you have the AUS political problems....

the tom cat and wild cat have been on Top Gear a few times and the Nemesis was shown when they had a race between the new german series and the poms.

Here are some youtube clips to tease you for a while:-

My wife says I can build us one when we can afford it.

You can't get around the fact that it will have to comply with the Australian Design Rules in order to get a compliance plate and thus register it for road use. I enquired of Qld. Transport about importing a Teal kit car from England. They would regard it as an "individually constructed vehicle" which would have to comply with the ADR's as of the date it was presented for registration. There are restrictions on the age of engines you can use. The one I wished to use was not acceptable unless brought up to current standards. They also intimated that possibly I could be required to have emissions and brake testing done. Brake testing is done at Mangalore in Victoria, and according to QT, only GM-H and Ford can do the emissions testing. Too many obstacles so I gave up.

DOTARS used to have restrictions on the import of race or competition cars not for use on public roads. Check their web-site.

If I had one I'd sit in the driveway and do this all day until the next "event".
