    Intercooler Hose

Last weekend (in the TD5 Disco)when the rev's picked up we had a strange noise from under the bonnet that sounded like a moaning/wailing 5 year old who has been misbehaving and sent to their room while their brothers are being fed ice-cream.

After a bit of painful looking under the bonnet (the sound only was there under load) I found a split in the hose entering the intercooler. It had an internal split on one side through one lamination and a split on the outside through the outer lamination. It only managed to blow out under higher pressure (more turbo pressure).

So we fixed it with red gaffa tape

It ran like that fine for a week.

We ordered a replacement set of hoses from Bell Auto (UK)- ordered them on Sunday-received them Monday the next week.

    Excellent service and great price.

With the new hoses fitted we have never had so much bottom end power out of this car since we have had it. As some-one else has said here on another thread it is like adding an extra gear to the car.

    Cheers

    Andrew

You'll be impressed at the difference the hoses make to the vehicle performance if you have the original rubber hoses. It's hard to believe that the silicone hoses make as much difference as they do.

    Cheers
