community art 'mob'

maybe instead of painting a mural of buildings on buildings....

paint something like funny "what are they doing in there" murals that look
like the wall is glass or just not there...

eg:- people swinging on light fittings ...
people slobbing in front of TV
people building cars
playing cards
blokes cross dressing
people rebuilding motorbikes in lounge
sheep grazing
people gardening (eg mowing lounge floor)

etc etc...


make it a talking point for the area... could always add one room at a time....

surround with area that looks like bricks smashed out... then mural within...

if another comes up, simply paint more as smashed out and mural within....

could always mount front 1/2 of old landy body out of wall and make it look ,like it has punched through... might even get sponsorship for the doors from a landy wrecker!?!

just a couple thoughts, or could paint a different continent scene on each floor, or room, but remember to paint in pillars or the upper floor will fall on them all!

(maybe a floor that is full of furniture etc but then looks like its flooded and has fish etc in it (maybe even using furniture???)

myself I'd like to see a heap of rooms painted in, each from some point in AUST history, so could have
FLOREY discovering in one room next to
Sir Weary Dunlop treating soldiers in another,
and just along could be people working on snowy mountains scheme,
others such as explorers (burke and wills, mcdougall-stuart,)
a "space room" with Astronaut THOMAs in spaceshuttle,
maybe Pharlap in his stable?,
Mary(?) Cottee sailing her trip,
a family in a "bomb shelter" (ww2)
volunteer fire fighters against a big blaze...
surf life savers in action,
ses doing a rescue
etcetc

the options are endless...
maybe make it VC corner, paint murals of each VC winner up...
(this could cause trouble if you intend to build it out later)

maybe murals of old billboards/posters? etc...
(rosella, amgoorie tea, shell oil, etc...(could get sponsorship for these))


could even make it a competition to design this stuff...it'll make the buildings a landmark...
and if done in installments will keep public interest...so paint company name atop building and it'll be free advertising...
