Sorry if this is a double post but i did not see it mentioned here.
I loved this show when I was young.

He was good, I remember his test reviews of the Cooper S, Valiant Pacer, the Falcons GT and Monaros among many others on the 70's
I am saddend by this news I was inspired by Peter and his motoring shows as I was growing up in the mid 70,s and 80,s.
My thought,s and Prayers are with his Family and Friends.
He will be Missed.
Rest in Peace Peter.
I think his most impressive feat was driving in high-heels!!!![]()
Cross-dressing aside (strange hobby for a bloke if you ask me) there's never been a motoring show in Oz that got anywhere near Peter's show "Torque".
I loved it as a kid and the thing that I hate about all the recent attempts (infomercials) is, like all current TV, they're aimed at entertainment, lack any kind of substance or depth, and forget that unbiased info is important.
Vale Peter Wherrett. I have to admit I am of the similar vintage and always watched his shows on TV.........Bearman
RIP Pete, great man and driver, loved his show Torque, maybe the guys from Top Gear should watch some episodes.
Baz.
Cheers Baz.

Yes Vale -theres goes a bloke who knew cars!
I remember when he had his licence suspended for DUI...
my father (who is a 'hang em high" kinda bloke) wondered if they could have a special licence category for Pete so he could drive when he was reviewing a car or test driving it!!
as said, it would be very hard to replace someone who had all that knowledge and knew how to present it...(so...who cares what he did in his spare time!... bit unclassy to drag it out today?!)
