    Haflinger Don't Buy!!!

I am not sure how interested any of you guys on here are interested in Haflingers the smaller version of the Pinzgauer...

But in my usual search trying to find one i came across i a rediculous price for one!

Used Cars for Sale | AUDI HAFLINGER www.drive.com.au

I called him and asked if there was any reason for the price and he stated there is nothing special about it. So after hearing this i decided too let him know he was asking way too much! He asked if i would be interested in buying the the car i told him i am very interested but i would much rather pay the price it is worth which is closer 6 thousand dollars. He was not very happy to hear this at all! He stated "haha you would be surprised what a buyer with money and no knowledge of a cars real value will pay, why dont you go and try find something else in you far lower price range" (and then hung up) Now i was very offended by this as i had stated at the beginig of the conversation that i was an honest caller not trying to offend. Now i am starting my task of protecting as many people as possible from buying this over priced vehicle!

But i am more annoyed by how happy he is to rip the public off!

I spotted this some time ago - it is for sale at the Throttle Shop - they normally sell classic cars at over the top prices.

Something is only worth what someone will pay.

It is a very tidy example and they are very thin on the ground. Would need to confirm whether civvy model or ex-aus army.

You can put whatever price on it you want. Doesn't mean someone will pay it.

He will either learn this and drop it, decide to keep it, or someone will pay it. If someone pays that much then they must REALLY want it and they consider it worth it or "A fool and his money are soon parted".

Depends where you are standing to which one you believe it is.

No excuse for a poor attitude though.

You say they are thin on the ground yes but there is over 100 in Aus! and there is only around 20 Pinzgauers and we picked up one in 100% standard swiss army condition with brand new body and complete rebuild (in the swiss army work shop) and those examples buy between 20-30 thousand i am aware a car is worth what you pay but i just do not like the idea of someone being ripped off more so because of the attitude he gave me be littleing me as i had mentioned a figure under 10K

And yes emails offering 4-5K might make him at least realise he is wrong about the price, but i cant see him budging!

The Throttle Shop has a history of doing this sort of thing and are well known to classic car enthusiasts. They seem happy to let a car sit at a high price in their yard for a long period of time waiting for their pigeon to come along. They know exactly what this car is worth - sending e-mails will have no impact on them.

Are they renound for being rude to callers? Thing is my old man could easy pay for it without a sweat, but why would we when we know it is too much plus he was rude. We will continue to look for that perfect sale ...We already have three haflingers but wouldn't mind buying one complete in good condition.

    .

Your kidding right?, its pretty rude to try tell a seller what its worth, make an offer, yea, even ridiculous, but telling them how much they should sell it for? I think you got a warranted response
