    Easter Bad Weather Plan B

Well mrs Apocalypse is getting cold feet with the Easter Long weekend camping trip! We were all gee'd up for a five day stay on Straddie but it's looking shakey. Fair enough but she hates point lookout and wont stay there.

So what to do to keep all camps happy?

Moreton has all the beaches closed cos of the oil Slick.

Fraser is too hard to do in a short trip.

I want to do some off roading. A lot of it. Need some suggestions for somewhere that has decent tracks. Is within reach of Brisvegas but has nice accom.
    Any Suggestions.

LCMP, Rover Park, or any of the other 4WD parks west of Brisbane. Go out and get the Dirty Weekends book from BCF or similar, its a great SE qld specific guide with lots of trips and every privat/public 4WD park listed. I think it's about $35 - well worth it if you are stuck for ideas.

I thought that moreton was open for easter, thought they were pretty much finished over there.

I was in the same boat and me and my mates called off our trip to DI because of weather and too many people up there at this time of year. We are going out to my family's property on the downs for a couple days now

    G'Day, Mrapocalypse : )
Goomburra state forest and adjoining private park is a good option. 40 min to some wineries if required to sell the idea. A walk in the rain along the waterfall circuit, through a bellbird colony , return via the ridge walk with huge lightening- shattered trees is balm for the heart.
hmmmm, it has been too long, I may see you there if you go!

I believe that place is killarney Via the Boonah Condamine road. That's the front runner so far, although I think the River may be in flood, which would require Plan C!
