DB is right, the winch is in a removable cradle. And as Dave says it depends on what sort of driving you are doing as to whether it is left in that position or not.
Looks like a good idea though, as the approach angle with most low mount winch bars is pretty average, and it is not fun when you go to use the winch to discover the fairlead is bent and siezed from nudging rocks:mad:
