Wuold you put your winch in this Position

DB is right, the winch is in a removable cradle. And as Dave says it depends on what sort of driving you are doing as to whether it is left in that position or not.

Looks like a good idea though, as the approach angle with most low mount winch bars is pretty average, and it is not fun when you go to use the winch to discover the fairlead is bent and siezed from nudging rocks:mad:

As DB says:

Allows you to move the winch to the rear of the vehicle as well if all the fitting points and cabling are installed.

Quite clever - I have been in a few predicaments where winching out forwards was not an option.

Would I put a winch in that position? NO!

As a demountable winch I would have it securely stowed in rear of the vehicle.

IF I suspected I might need it for a given section I would mount it in readiness.

Would hate to think what 50+kg is doing to the A bar mounts etc as it goes across rough terrain.
