    Unlikely - can you visualise someone installing hydrogen (sic) dispensing equipment at every small town and outback roadhouse? And failing that can you envisage how you could carry a couple of spare jerricans of the stuff?

    But as the comments on the article indicate, there are serious problems with this Hummer (or at least the article) anyway.

    What a useless idea. Logic dictates that a heavy lump like an H3 will get lousy economy no matter what fuel it's running on. People seem to think that making a car run on electricity automatically improves its green credentials. It doesn't! It just changes the geographic location of the pollution.

    Eventually all electric cars will have star ratings and methinks the Hummer would get only one star, if that. If everyone who drove a Hummer had it converted to battery power, I wonder how many more power stations would have to be built.
