Port Douglas holidays
Hi, I'm turning 50 in August this year and the Mrs wants to whip me away to some where 'special'. To clarify things, we are in NZ and there is a strong likelyhood that some other family members may tag along, I was wondering if a week or so in Port Douglas my fit the bill for a relaxing place to go but with things to do, ie; maybe a bit of fishing, snorkling, sailing etc and as some of you guys may live in that area, perhaps you could come up with some suggestions? We are looking at about a week in the area. Any suggestions/opinions??
Thanks, Jack

Won a trip to Port Douglas last year, it was excellent. The Mrs & I went only for 5 days end Aug/Sept - weather was perfect (28 - 30 deg C) to escape from Victorian winter blues. Went to the reef/snorkeling, checked out the croc farm (fantastic), visited Kuranda markets (just outside Cairns), went to the beach etc, etc. Didn't get to the Daintree/Cape Trib - maybe next time. Would def go back.
