Clue, the answer is not crap cars.
This is not a cryptic clue, I am merely pre-empting the smart-arses. (You know who you are.)

AAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH! the real thing was so bad only those who haven't driven one would want a "nostalgic memoir"does the fantastic detail include two pairs of thongs (one wasn't enough to stop burning your feet on the floor) and half a Jackie Howe tied to the base of the main box gearlever to stop the oil vapourisation. The good old days.....haaah..... give me forklifts, cranes and air conditioning any day.

No takers? We know you're sitting quietly up the back Simon, "Oh I knew that, but didn't see the question." will not cut it here mate.
Answer: Sheep shearing gear, used in Australia. Herbie saw it on a visit here before purchasing the Company, long before the Yank bought the shaving mob!
