Sadly, no. Sounds like a classic.

No Ian,he's helping me with my up and coming TV programme, only yesterday we received an e-mail from an Ernest Penrose from Chinley, whom had replied to our ad in the Peak Adertiser news paper asking for mower restorers to make contact with us,well he told us upon entering his kitchen last Wednesday morning found the remains of a Qualcast Petrol King mower which had been rammed through their back door in the middle of the night,Ernest didn't mind the mess, his wife Ada who had been in the front room listening to her cassette of Bobby Golsboro's, 'Summer (the first time')at full volume had heard nothing of Ernest's find being 'delivered',by someone who knew of his liking for mowers.

This was no ordinary Petrol King though, having been fitted at some point it it's life with a Lister single cylinder 9.5HP diesel engine,Ernest then set about restoring it for us in 25 minutes, first adjusting the clutch, fabricating a 3" straight through exhaust from the porch down pipe,on firing it up with aid of some 'easy start' it litrally roared into life as Ernest engaged the clutch his foot slipped on there pet mouse which had nawed through it's cage during the restoration.(RIP Sniffer)

It set off with Ernest hanging on for his life through the cat flap or what was now left of it,across the lawn(I must say he'd set the blade height spot on leaving a 1'2" high grass strip) through the fence clearing next doors pond by 3" taking the side out of there Sprite Alpine caravan just loaded up for there holiday in Rhyl, missing the gas cylinders and coming to rest embeded in No 16's gable end wall.

On coming round with the aid of a botle of HP brown sauce put under his nose(he can't stand it said his wife),said "bloody 'el this'll cost some'at to put reet look at grass box it's all scuffed" !
