Regent would make it early 50s? Back then all "tramline" routes, ie main road duplicating the tram routes, (later extended) were 3 digit routes. All other routes were 2 digit numbers. Unusually, any inbound tramline service terminating at Fortitude Valley (The Valley) was designated 109. So there were 109s coming from all directions.

very true my friend, infact 115 was called back into service thus being serviced late because of shortages, the driver on that early evening route(Bryan) who's mother was born at 32 Grenier St., Fortitude Valley,so it was a real surprize for her to see her 'little' Bryan driving in that area.

she's certain it was Grenier St,runs from Water St to St Pauls Terrace, because 'little' Bryan was born on the evening of Jan 6 at the corner of Water St and Grenier St., bumpeing his head on the pavement when he 'shot out' as his mother recalls whilst on her way to catch the tram, she thinks it affected him in later life,as he wouldn't eat anything with an 'R' in it once he'd gone past 9yoa.

That would explain him driving a BCC bus.
The bottom end of Grenier St is on the border, but technically it is all in Spring Hill. Same postcode though, 4006. I used to live on the other side of the golf course.
