Don't even mention anything whatsoever about water, leaks, or radiators thanks Deano ...

Oil for cork and kero for paper was the go. Manilla folders make great gaskets when your'e in a fix. As far as............."& gaskets which have expanded due to excessive moisture need to be put in a warm place around 65-95 degrees" ........, if the gaskets that stuffed toss it and get a new one. The only damp place you'll find in an engine is the cooling system and it generally use paper gaskets anyway, easily replaceable. Don't get into the habit of using "Silastic" as a replacement, radiator repairers will hate you as it clogs the radiator tubes and causes the engine to overheat and is a bugger to clean out. On the other hand the Dealerships will love you as they can sell the customer a new radiator at vast profit.

Onto sealants, seals & adhesives now, bloody hell, who'd have thought there was so much involved mating parts ...

Have had an extremely long day today, so just popping in briefly to put an ad in markets for Tony

    Very quiet here this evening

nahh crossed nuts are easy, plenty of lube and then give them a gentle going over with a suitable split side reaming tool.
