Just because you own a Land Rover, you don't have to have a one track (dirt) mind.

I've never watched the show, I'm never described as beautiful and don't consider myself bold.

    wasnt that hard...

I've got a carton that says that since you now know what the problem is that if you read the autos tute in the forum that you can reason out the logic to arrive at the same conclusion.

If you're interested go read it up and see if you can work out how I got to the pump or the supply being the problem.

    the threads here

Ive greyd out my logic below so that its a little harder to accidentally read
have a stab and see if you can work to the same conclusion I did

when there was no mention of

"my auto sounds like dwarves are wresting in a blender while wearing chainmail armour" it wasnt mechanical

since it was selecting it wasnt valves or the clutch packs and I suspected that they hadnt been touched anyway

ruling out the TC being totally skippy edwards because it was able to apply significant drive

since the thing got better with more RPM's that suggested that there was an oil flow problem which wasnt caused by an internal pressure loss or bypass which left the pump (which dumps us back at hydraulics 101)

90% of all hydraulic problems are flow related in most cases is a dodgy supply to the pump or relief valve and the only way to get bad flow in an auto is with poor suction or a seal problem on the pump because the relief valve in most autos is after all the important stuff so that if it does get a littly iffy you still get a supply of pressure to get it to sort of work and to maintain lube.
