years ago whilst servicing my KH250 I broke a piston ring, we managed to see by the headlights of my mates old Morris LD van,started straight away on the handle after us having the lights on for agood hour

My first car was a SV Minx, the battery was cactus and any semblance of compression was long gone. Due to the lack of comp, I couldn't spin the engine fast enough to fire, I used to wind it to the top of a hill, on the crank handle and clutch it on the way down.
