I've over-rated it, it's only 360cc. There's a fair bit on google, under 'Suzuki Mighty Boy Club', an Oz site.

Yes I did actually. Scania cast the blocks for Mack, upto and including the V8s, and apparently after they were cast were left outside for 12 months before being machined.

I've always fancied one of those scootery things with a trayback, just for a bit of a lark.

left outside, that reminded me of when I worked for MOD we had a new Terex dozer delivered to replace a very old Vickers Vigor which we used for towing Chieftain hulls and dead complete tanks around the workshop, to and from the compound(we used to do a full strip and rebuild of them)including the turrets, anyway the Terex came with a blade and ripper we took these off along with a huge Hyster winch all being left out on stillages at the compound, they were still there long after the depot closed some 6 years later, god knows what the cost was of all that kit

Allegedly the year in freezing conditions was like a heat treatment, stress relieving, they were a very versatile block, accepting many rebuilds. I don't know where the heads were cast, maybe Scania too.

the Chieftain engine an L60 was a self opposed multi fuel two stroke with a Rootes blower on it,designed by the MOD and built by BL to there designs BL told the MOD that the engine developed to much power for the casting to the point where the liners were 'glued' in with Belzona to stop them twisting, they lasted anything from 3hrs to 100 hrs before self distructing,a poster on the test house ,read if you had an engine started running on its own oil, discharge a fire ex into the inlet manifold,we had con rods through the blocks big end bearing flying out.

That could be a bit inconvenient during the heat of battle.
I knew of that spec, but thought it was a Commer build and design.
