Yes thanks Coop, just been incredibley hectic. Hospitals, police/insurance reports, etc, etc.

My friend and her mum are both suffering severe soft tissue injury/pain. Mum will be in hospital until at least Friday. She also has a fractured sternum and will be having special x-rays to make sure her artificial shoulder(s) are not dislocated.

Big bouquet to NM's ilk, mum is being treated better at the public hospital than she was in the posh joint a couple of months ago. She cannot speak highly enough of all the staff, from the pink ladies to the libra fler girls and doctors.

At one time Banbury had many crosses (The High Cross, The Bread Cross and The White Cross), but these were destroyed by [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puritan"]Puritans[/ame] on 26 July 1600. Banbury remained without a cross for more than 250 years until the current Banbury Cross was erected in 1859 at the centre of the town to commemorate the marriage of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Victoria"]Queen Victoria[/ame]'s eldest daughter to Prince Frederick of Prussia. The current Banbury Cross is a stone, spire-shaped monument decorated in Gothic form. Statues of Queen Victoria, [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_VII_of_England"]Edward VII[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_V_of_England"]George V[/ame] were added in 1911. The cross is fifty-two feet six inches high, and topped by a gilt cross.

Hi Pedro, I've seen the cross. I had an aunt who attended boarding school in Banbury, and visited her there as a young child.
