Very nice, I've been thinking of trying to built one of them, if I ever get the time and money. Not a Series 3, though.

One of the advantages of "proper" Landrovers is the ease with which they can be modified. And this one shows it! Not just with the dual cab conversion, but with the the fact that it has, for example, a Series 3 bulkhead and windscreen, but Series 2a door hinges. I wonder which Series it started life as?

Believe it or not, I've seen one before in a UK LR magazine - about the same age, and it was a readers car featured as a restoration project. To the best of my knowledge it was a factory built 127 inch. No mention of it's initial purpose (ie farm or military), and the article treated it as a normal version of the series III.

Can you visualise the turning circle of a 127" wheelbase with the front axle of a Series?

(According to my calculations, about 55ft or 16.7m)

I'm guessing 1971 SIII going by the number plate.
