    want info on Isuzu 3.9T

I have heard of a LR with a 3.9T Isuzu with 800,000 on the clock. Is that to many K's. they only want 2000 dollars for it. I am thinking my son should buy it. How will running costs compare as opposed to putting ours on gas.

Even if it needed a rebuild kit it would be still be cheaper to run than a V8 county. In trucks they do that many and more k's so unless its completely clapped out if would be a good buy - the conversion parts are worth that or more.

The engines are reported to do 500k - 1000k km in trucks between rebuilds. The only Landie 3.9s I am aware of which have needed rebuilds were from issues like overheating.

I would be more worried about the state of the gearbox/t-case and the PAS box than the engine.

Running costs are low as long as big ticket items like those above don't need replacement.

If you give me the seller's phone number, I'll get some more info on it 'for you'

Seriously though, as long as it's in at least reasonable condition, you wont find one cheaper than that.

I put a 4BD1, bell housing and gearbox in the market section and was told $3500 is too much for a 12V unit with 200k's on it.
    How does that work?

The bloke that has it will let it go for $3k I am sure and I can guarantee that its a good unit with 12V starter everything.
When we were looking for one, there was nothing under $4500.

Just a thought if someone wants a low kay Isuzu.

Having bought and sold an Isuzu or few, its to dear, a whole car is still worth plenty more

It also adapts to an LT77 which isn;t exactly desirable behind a 4BD1 let alone anything else

One I bought was in a clasicc RR, all 12V ancillaries, with LT95, PTO winch, maxi drive rear end and reg, for less than the asking price your mate has, it runs like a clock

I also purchased and resold after I picked some bits, a 4BD1 with 2?0.000 can;t remember exactly kays, with 12V ancillaries and bellhousing etc to suit LT95 for $2600 landed at my door

There is many more, its still to dear
