    Police thinking!

Sometimes I have to wonder at the thought processes of some policemen.

We went to a remembrance motorcycle rally for our late son at Mt. Panorama over the weekend. We camped at McPhillamy Park (yes, the grounds were booked with the Council).

Naturally, we were all doing laps of the circuit even though the speed limit was 60km/h (the police do and did sit on Conrod Straight in wait).

Yesterday, some idiot poured about 20 litres of oil onto the very wet track in the Esses, the Dipper, and Forest Elbow at the top of the hill, obviously in an attempt to bring the motorbikes down.

The police duly arrived and accused the bike riders of having a hand in putting the oil on the track. The copper's view was that we bike riders like having slippery corners. Seriously!

Not my bike but you can see the oil thrown up from the track:

I'd hate to hit one of those corners on an oily track. The corners are a tad scary (especially with cars running in both directions around the track).

I have to assume it was a local resident who didn't like the bikes doing laps. Fortunately, owing to the heavy rain we weren't riding at night.

    Hi Ron.

That's ridiculous! What a stupid accusation. I hope 'they' put a little more thought into locating the offender and got onto Council to have the road cleaned up as soon as possible.

I'm glad to hear no one had a accident from the oil on the road, that's a bloody frightening proposition going either direction on that piece of road.

    What a moron.

    No all of them (us).

And from the sounds of it the bloke who spoke with Ron probably spends more effort dodging work than investigating it.

Mudmouse, i'm gonna take a guess that you're on the force

sorry, but i, along with a lot of others are jaded by the government and the police forces claims that "speed cameras, radar guns, etc save lives" when a lot of the time, its blatant revenue raising

just dont get me started on police officers trying to push thier morals onto others.......

Thats disapointing Ron. I think the majority of coppers are good blokes (and chicks), but it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you have a run in with a right b@stard of one. I guess some of them get so used to be hard asses because they have to to deal with some of the people they run into, but it doesnt mean you need to be like that all the time. Wouldnt be much of a job if you were...
