    If its a TD5 its a 120amp

    just wondered what battery isolator i would need as they come in 100 150 200 amp???

    I think the standard Defender Tdi amp is 65amp or something like that. Do a search and you'll get the details. Most Defender owners here when replacing their alternator go for the 100amp one LR put in Discoveries if they do not upgrade further.

    I'll be going for a Tdi Disco alternator when my original one packs it in.

    The current capacity of a dual battery controller actually has far less to do with the maximum capacity of your alternator and more to do with the use intended for the controller.

    Are going to be charging one, two or more auxiliary batteries?

    65 amp is standard for the Defender Tdi , A disco one which is 100 amp will fit or a ford transit one (100amp) will also fit
