Cooper, yes I stand corrected as you say the 3 was much more modern ,often in the optional 'duo tone' paint.

    Yes.

Funny this. My Dad had 2 Vanguards, both Estates, and although I knew their year models, I haven't heard of Phase 1, 2 etc before .

Dad had a '52 with the barn doors and then the mighty '62 six cylinder with twin carbies, which I learned to drive in. Not bad cars, but pathetic performance by the standards of today, as is anything old.

A old dozer driver friend of mine, pet Land Rover.
It had a halfpenny on the starter button
You only had to wave your hand over the starter button
and it would start and idle every time

Well I've hunted down a couple of shots.

This one is circa 1972, camped on the Murray River (I probably caught a carp or 2). I look really interested...... No 4wd yet - we still had the kingswood.

This next one is 1974 with my 2 sisters and mum cooking. We would have had the FJ40cruiser by that stage. (Sorry we were a Toyota mob!). I think this is the middle of the Big Desert Victoria - Moonlight Tank? Who put me in that Richmond jumper Musn't have jumped to the BLues yet

Still looking for a few early vehicle shots.
