OK found a few more. Sorry they are all Toyota shots - Dad was a keen TLC of Vic member. They were fun days - only 100 or so members and no "big club" politics and crapola that you see now.
High Country Victoria - Wonangatta Valley - circa 1976.

Note the lovely pasture and the cattle! Apart from the occassional cow pat it was lovely. Doesn't look that good now that its an overgrown fly ridden national park. Cattlemen cared for the High Country!

7.50x16's and a shovel were the entire recovery kit.

The Convoy - we kept in touch by falshing lights and waving arms - no CB's. Although occassionally someone would pull out a 5kg Hand Held but usually that requried 24 AA batteries :lol2:

My sister looking very 70's, on top of Landcruiser number 3 (Dad had a FJ55, then an early FJ40 and then this later 4 speed) Note the bullbar made from water pipe - must have weighed a ton :o
Fun days - no track closures, no liability insurance, no big rubber boghole bogans - just good family adventures.:D

There are some great old photos in this thread.
Next time I am over east visiting family, I must remember to raid the old family albums for some photos. There will be quite a few of our extended family touring the deserts, Fraser Island etc from the late 70s & early 80s. We had a couple of S3 109"s (hardtop and wagon) plus my uncle in his Range Rover. Fun times, great memories.....
Cheers,
Chris
