I'll be buzzing around between Innisfail and Cooktown between the 26th and the 5th, however I'll be in disguise aboard a red and black Moto Guzzi, I'll keep an eye out for you.![]()
After over a year of discussions the CCCCC trip is soon to head off with members leaving their home towns from about Thurs thru to Sat to meet up just south of Innisfail on Monday 29th June. One vehicle has already started it's way from Perth and has probably hit Brisbane already.
What started off as a massive group of 20 vehicles has dropped to seven with CC himself having to pull out as well. He will be with us in spirit and we appreciate the effort he put in getting this off the ground. But seven is still a decent number so it should be interesting just from a logistics point-of-view. We might come back in three separate groups
Over that time a few people from FNQ have thought they might catch up with us on the way. I have trawled through the many threads and identified some of these but I have probably missed some.
We are definitely meeting up with RoverRescue who will join us for a couple of nights in Lakefield NP. We are catching up with IceFyre's parents who will be crossing paths with us. I believe Blknight will be meeting up with one or two on his journey in Fozzy. Hopefully we will bump into NOZ and his crew who have a one week head start on us. NOt sure if we are still meeting up with the Cairns LR club group or not.
This is your last chance to make arrangements if you think you might want to rendezvous anywhere. Our itinerary is published at http://www.aulro.com/afvb/ccccc/79588-itinerary.html.
Not that the cape is a major expedition and we have some pretty serious mechanicing, medical and off-road skills in the group but a few people offered assistance in terms of being able to ring them if something goes wrong but I cannot find those posts so if the offers are still open could you please make a post in the 2IC Ramblings thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/ccccc/7747...ramblings.html. It would be much appreciated. The Colonel has kindly offered to be our Brisbane Helpline in case we need parts coordinated.
At the very least, if you see a bunch of LRs (you can't miss Fozzy, he's orange with almost matching rims) give us a wave. The black (or is it a dark blue) Puma with the white circle on the side is easy to spot too. We will probably be on UHF9 but will monitor 11 as well.
