It was just a prank - he isn't the stig. He did shatter the old lap record, though the car probably helped. If you look in the right places, you can download the whole episode.

Too late. There was a American cousin of Stig (Fat Lard) and then his Afircan cousin. (Skinny in traditional clothing, just a robe and helmet)

Yes, I think it's just another prank too. When you're 7 times formula 1 world champion you don't have anything to prove (in a car anyway). And someone with his wealth would rather buy any car he wanted rather than be bothered flying to the UK in his private jet and then stand around on an aerodrome in between driving cars in front of cameras.

What's more, he has contractual obligations to ferrari which could be an issue for him. It wouldn't surprise me if they sent him to do STIG when there was a ferrari involved, but then they do have lots of good test drivers that could do it.

Yep just watched it and he drives around that new Ferrari FXX... which he just happens to own.

If i had a Ferrari FXX worth £1,000,000 i'd be the only one driving it too
