That's right, go and remind me at the last minute that I forgot to order something for the trip
They certainly seem very good and I've heard that a lot of boaty's use them too.
The Canberra Land Rover Club organised an information night at the local Diesel Injection shop last week. After having the pants scared of me with lurid tales of expensive fuel system repairs I went to BCF and purchased one of these as a stop gap measure to add some sort of protection whilst travelling to the top end next month.
The plan is to fill up the jerry cans first using the funnel to test if there is any water in the fuel prior to filling the tank. For $70.00 it seems like cheap insurance. Available at BCF stores or a bit cheaper form Aero shops on the web. Just search for MR Funnel.
I'll update the post with the results after our trip.

Tote

I too was scared when someone posted an $11,000 repair for the whole fuel system on their Landy when water got through.I bought a filter funnel but found it difficult to use at the pump as there was too much foaming of the fuel. If you fill the jerries first and then tip them through the filter into the tank they are great. I decided it was easier to fit an extra filter with water sensor before the LR one
This was a Racor as they advertise their filters as not being able to get waterlogged, so far so good

I was really wanting it for use with Jerries. I could see the issue at the pump happening easily.

I've heard that a lot of the truckies use a wad of that stuff that quilts are stuffed with as a pre filter in the filler neck of their fuel tank. Has anyone else head or know anything about this?
