    New Addition To The Garage

While not a LR, after taking the kids to school this morning doubled back to the Suzuki dealer to take a look at a black DRZ 400EK9 that he only uncrated last week. Stuck inside during a rain storm, so went troppo and bought it and a Yamaha TTR 110E for the kids.

Been too long without a dirt bike. The DRZ seems a good alrounder for what I want.
Will post some picks after I pick it up Tues or Wed.

You'd better hurry up and get back to work Craig.

Too much spare time and getting "stuck" in places like that could end up costing you a fortune.

Any truth in the rumour that Twiggy might be interested in Ravy ????
    Cheers .........

    Brian / Andy,
Yeah we knew they were going to sell it. The may re-open talk etc was all smoke and mirrors.
There have been several interested parties including the Chinese heading out that way over the last few weeks.
Hopefully the buyer will re-open it and be good for the economy. Would be nice to get a job back out there as I loved my job and the people I worked with were fantastic.
Would be tragic to see it cut up and taken overseas.
There is something drastically wrong if a company like BHP could not ride out the nickel price storm for another 6 months. The price is back to high $19k US.
Been thinking about a new dirt bike for a while and why not while I have the money.

Thanks, I have been thinking about it for a while and Mel said go ahead so I did. I am not sure if she thought I really would though.
Hopefully pick them up tommorow arvo, dependng on how long the interview with ARG lasts. Looking forward to it.
Looked at a lot of bikes and this seemed to be the best allrounder in the budget. A bit like the Honda XR's used to be like. The current crop of bikes like the WR and CRF are fairly high maintenance, even the dealers are now saying this. I know the YZ426 was.
Should not really be buying it, but hey I am not going to upgrade the 4x4 for a few years now.
    Cheers

All seems good so far. I am getting used to the height. I will probablly get the lowering link from Ballards that will bring it down 28mm and be about right for me. It will at least allow me to touch one side flat footed. I will make sure I start it but will probablly put it on a maintenance charger, just looking how I will set it up, maybe on an anderson 50amp plug.
I believe there is a kick start kit available but will look at that later.
The power is good and about what I want (previous bike a 2000 YZ426) and that could fly, but was a bugger to kick.
    Cheers

    Nice bikes Craig!!

How'd the interview with ARG go. Next door neighbour has been with them for a few years now and loves it (I assume you mean the ARG that runs the trains).
