Can mud stain ones beloved LR?

    G'day All,

Thought would give Smokey a bit of a clean after the last couple of trips. Am leaving outside as is as going on another trip next weekend....but thought would give the interior a clean.

When I went to clean the mud off the doors and some other parts of the car...ie round the base of the seats etc.......when it dried...the mud was still pretty much there....like it has stained?? I have tried multi purpose cleaner and dishwashing detergent and warm water......still there.

So can mud stain? And how does one get rid of it as on the front passenger door it is quite a large patch ( thanks to little princess) and quite unsightly. Don't care about the outside of the car....but like it to be nice inside. Appreciate any thoughts and advice......

    Regards

    Stevo

I had the same problem, luckily i was able to take all the carpet out due to an inside rust proofing sesion
I spread all the carpet out on the lawn in the sun then covered it in cheap $2 carpet cleaner, let it sit for a while then high pressure washed it, worked really well
I wouldn't use anything to toxic, fair chance it will fade the carpet and remove the colour from it......

Stevo, there is a product on the market that cleans the mud "stain" off plastic but I can't remember the name The black plastic wheel arches on the D3 are very hard to get mud off as you'll remember.

Try visiting the Pilbara area for a few weeks - everything and I mean everything there takes on the hue of 'Pilbara Pink' from the iron ore. Take a drive through Port Headland sometime and you'll see what I mean.
