Doesn't attach. You just throw a bit of dirt into the tub and then sit the bucket down flat on the dirt. The weight of the digger means that it does not move around - and the dirt protects the floor of the tub in case there is any movement.
When towing using the Sleipner, the excavator operator travels in the cab with the engine running. He makes sure that sufficient hydraulic pressure is applied to the boom rams to keep the digger tracks level and off the ground, and can also "steer" the digger if required by slewing the boom.
