    Oh well...
I'd hate to be the cause of your non-enjoyment of this thread.

I can have a go at telling you why I reckon its funny, if you want.

    The youtube stats show

10 400 likes vs. 206 dislikes. Of course, there's lots of retards out there who like unfunny stuff.

    Geez guys - c'mon....

Funny to one person doesn't mean it is (or has to be) funny to everyone. If you don't like something that is posted, just move on.

    - oh, I had a giggle at it by the way...

Thanks korg for your constant efforts at giving us something new to look at. You have stepped up to take over from spudboy as #1 amusement provider!

    Ha!
    Thanks for that, mate.
spudboy is awesome and I'd love to see more stuff he comes across in his internet travels.

I only post stuff that makes me smirk or laugh. I realise not everone will find funny what I find funny. But, I'd hate to send them the other way.

Ok, what I find funny about it is without music this scene is really lame and it makes me laugh to think of an award ceremony like this without any apparent joy from the crowd- just foot-shuffling, coughing and nose-blowing followed by half-hearted applause.

The pained calls from Chewbacca are what amused me the most as in the movie his vocalisations are pretty menacing.

Another aspect that I appreciated is how music in films can completely change the raw material of what has been filmed.

So, that may help you to understand a bit of why it made me laugh.
I grew up with this movie and it is soooo familiar to me that seeing this scene in a different way ticked my fancy.

Fair enough. I've never seen the movie so I didn't notice the lack of music. I just looked like a lame story and that's why I was waiting for the massacre.

The dialogue of Star Wars really is lame. I remember reading that Harrison Ford said to George Lucas:
"George, you can type this ****, but you sure has hell can't say it."
The actors did a pretty good job with what they were given. But there was so much cool stuff in there for a kid like me to make me love it ever since.
