    It occurs to me that in an era of stealth bombers, perhaps there is an opening for acoustic tracking of aircraft, although I doubt modern equipment would look anything like these gadgets.

    Interesting looking truck that one. It appears to be a very early tipper.
    I cant quite read what it is, but it looks a little like it says Chaimberlain (?) but it seems to be a bit long for that.
    Any info on it Arthur ?

    Here it is in 1975, almost 40 years ago!

    that's my Great Grandfathers old place, his name was bone or bunney depending on family relations and the state of his relationships with the coppers of the day. he was the first to go into mechanical transport or trucks as a roading contractor. to replace the Draft. to soon the trucks made him go broke. my grandfather actually left school at the supposed age of 13 to be a teamster, some years latter when he was getting married his mother rote back that he should wait until he was 21 since he was only 19. which means he finished school at age 11. there is also or was a Rio a Bedford and a traction engine there as well. the last time i saw the traction engine it was fired up and running in 1978
