    I got a little 175 Yamaha Trials bike when I was 17. Wasnt too bad actually. Seat was wafer thin though!

    Managed to keep it a secret from Mum & Dad for about a year by keeping it at my girlfriend's holiday house. BIG trouble when I got busted

    Can you imagine being allowed to launch a rocket like that in Oz? No chance!

    Re the TV, that's about the size of the first oscilloscope I built in the Sixties. For the electronics types, it was nearly all valve as transistors were horribly expensive and were of limited frequency response anyway. An OC71 germanium transistor was about $3 and I was earning $20/week. The picture tube was a 5BP1. Funny what one remembers.
